Innovation is a strategic value for the Essentium Group. The company develops major research efforts through its R&D&I Management Systems.
The Group carries out a significant number of R&D&I projects in its different areas of activity: energy efficiency, optimisation of industrial processes, biochemical processes, maintenance of road infrastructure, etc.
Some of the more prominent projects developed in recent years are examples of the foregoing:
International project financed by the European Commission within the 7th Framework Program, in the call pertaining to the Environment.
It centres on the research into the use of the industrial waste of cement -specifically alkaline solids- as raw material for its production.
International project financed by the Centre for Industrial Technological Development (CDTI by its initials in Spanish), included within the international programs Eureka and Iberoeka. Focussed on improving energy efficiency, as well as health and safety in mining and excavations, in the construction of infrastructure.
Project financed with the Group's own resources, consisting in the treatment of waste water by employing the use of semi-submerged macrophyte plants.
