Founded on 24 April 1928, the Club Deportivo Toledo is one of Spain's historical clubs. Its tradition and potential make it one of Castilla-La Mancha's signs of identity, one of the most recognised organisations within the region, with significant media following.
This is a club with great tradition in the training of youngsters, with a football academy with more than 200 children, who besides playing sport, benefit from the positive values that its transmits, like learning to value the virtues of teamwork, or personal growth through the attainment of objectives.
It is currently playing in Group II of Second Division B, fighting to take one further step towards the growth it obtained during its best years in the Second Division A, category in which it stood out during the nineties. Precisely in 1994 it came close to promotion to the First Division, however it succumbed to Valladolid in the promotion play-offs.
Salto del Caballo, the home ground of C.D. Toledo, has been a social meeting point for the imperial capital's inhabitants. And on special occasions it has brought together up to 6,000 fans, who have come to the ground to support such an historical and endearing team.
